This is a blog for the family and friends of Elder Lance Thomas Montgomery. He will be serving a two year mission in the Monrovia Liberia West Africa Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he left on April 18, 2013. While Elder Montgomery is on his mission his Mom will be posting pictures and letters as she gets them, the content will be straight from Lance (unless otherwise noted) - but spelling and punctuation will be corrected of course! Commentary and clarification may be added by his Mom as needed.

Hello Family,

                       I am in Ghana safe and sound. The plane rides were not very fun at all. But I am safe and that all that counts haha!!! The food hasn't been that bad, they really do eat a lot of rice. I ended up meeting 11 other missionaries in Salt Lake and we all flew together. They are some awesome people! Out of the 12 of us there are only 4 going to Sierra Leone after the MTC, including me. So far we have just checked in and met with the MTC President, and now I am emailing haha!!! I want to go out into to the field already! Well I have to go I love you all!!! Elder Montgomery

The departure from Phoenix

Elder Montgomery has landed in Ghana...we know this from tracking the plane through the airlines.  Elder Montgomery will be spending the next three weeks at the MTC.
We are all waiting for his email from there...
